This qualification is designed to help learners build the skills and gain knowledge of the health, social care and children and young people’s sectors, and the roles within them. It covers a wide range of topics including employment legislation, law, procedures, and personal development.

What you will learn?

  • Know the statutory responsibilities and rights of employees and employers within own area of work..
  • Understand agreed ways of working that protect own relationship with employer.
  • Understand how own role fits within the wider context of the sector.
  • Understand career pathways available within own and related sectors.
  • Understand how issues of public concern may affect the image and delivery of services in the sector.

The qualification is internally assessed by a Portfolio of Evidence.

Course duration

The course is delivered over days of underpinning knowledge and a portfolio of evidences to be completed by the learners.

Courses can be delivered over two Saturdays or two week days.

Starts time 10 am and finishes at 5 pm.
