This qualification is designed to help learners build the skills and gain knowledge of children from birth to 19 years. This qualification prepares learners for employment in diverse range of job roles and occupational areas and is spilt into two pathways:
Social Care PathwaySupporting Teaching and Learning Workers - who visit families of pre-school children at home Foster Carers Children and Families Social Workers Registered Managers of Children’s Homes, plus Deputy and Assistant Managers Residential Childcare Workers Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service Advisers Youth Worker Community care officer Professional assistant Family centre worker.

You should be at least 16 years old and after applying you will have an interview to determine which course is suitable for your needs and abilities.

The Diploma requires 65 credits.
|How is it assessed
Using a range of methods your tutor or assessor will support you e.g. direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task set by CACHE, work products etc.
|Do you need to be working to take the qualification
Yes, you will need to be volunteering, on practical placement or working to gather skills to demonstrate competence.
|How long does it take to complete
One year or less, depending on your individual needs.
CACHE Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (90 credits) or a Foundation Degree.
